What does the Commodities & FX section show?
The Commodities & FX section shows live prices for Gold 24K & 22K (per 10g), Silver (per 10g), Crude Oil (WTI barrel), Natural Gas, Copper (per kg), and live FX rates for USD, GBP, and EUR vs INR. Metal prices are derived from international spot prices, converted to INR at the live exchange rate, and adjusted for India's import duty (15%) and GST (3%). Other commodities are converted from USD futures to INR.
How often is the market data updated?
During market hours (9:15 AM – 3:30 PM IST), live indices and stock prices refresh every 20 seconds. Global cues and commodity prices are updated throughout the day.
How is the Gold and Silver price calculated?
We show both Gold 24K and Gold 22K per 10g, plus Silver per 10g — all in INR. Prices are calculated from international spot prices (USD per troy ounce), converted to INR using the live USD/INR exchange rate, then adjusted for India's 15% import duty and 3% GST. The 22K price is 91.67% of the 24K rate — the standard jewellery karat in India. These rates closely track IBJA and Google India gold prices, though they may differ slightly from local jeweller rates due to regional demand premiums.
What is FII and DII activity?
FII (Foreign Institutional Investors) and DII (Domestic Institutional Investors) are the "Big Money" in the market. Tracking their net buying/selling helps gauge institutional sentiment.
What is the difference between NSE and BSE?
NSE (National Stock Exchange) is the leading digital exchange in India, while BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) is the oldest. Nifty 50 tracks NSE, and Sensex tracks BSE.
How do I start investing in the Indian Stock Market?
You need a Demat and Trading account with a SEBI-registered broker. Once your KYC is complete, you can transfer funds and start buying stocks or mutual funds.
What is a SIP (Systematic Investment Plan)?
SIP allows you to invest a fixed amount regularly (monthly or quarterly) in a mutual fund, promoting disciplined saving and rupee-cost averaging.
What are Short-Term and Long-Term Capital Gains (STCG/LTCG)?
STCG (held < 1 year) is taxed at 20%. LTCG (held > 1 year) is taxed at 12.5% for gains exceeding ₹1.25 lakh in a financial year (as per latest 2024 rules).
What is India VIX?
India VIX is the volatility index. It measures market's expectation of volatility over the next 30 days. Higher VIX usually indicates fear or uncertainty.

What is Market Capitalization?
It is the total value of a company's shares (Current Price x Total Shares). Companies are classified as Large-cap, Mid-cap, or Small-cap based on this value.
What is an Upper and Lower Circuit?
These are price limits set by the exchange to prevent extreme volatility. If a stock hits a circuit, trading is halted or restricted for a period.
What is the Ex-Dividend Date?
The date on or after which a security is traded without a previously declared dividend. You must own the stock before this date to receive the dividend.
What is a Bonus Issue?
Free additional shares given to existing shareholders in a specific ratio (e.g., 1:1), based on the number of shares they already own.
What is Dividend Yield?
A financial ratio that shows how much a company pays out in dividends each year relative to its stock price (Annual Dividend / Stock Price).
What is the PE Ratio?
The Price-to-Earnings ratio measures a company's current share price relative to its per-share earnings. It helps value if a stock is over or undervalued.
What is Intraday Trading?
